ITFC Discuss SME Support Strategy on Sidelines of Islamic Development Bank’s Board of Governors 42nd Annual Meeting

The Islamic Development Bank’s Board of Governors 42nd annual meeting has started on Sunday at Jeddah city – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with participation of finance, economic and planning ministers from 57 member states of the bank in the presence of H.E Dr. Bandar bin Hamza Hajjar, President of the Islamic Development Bank Group along with a large number of representatives from member countries, international and regional finance institutions, Islamic banks, national institutions for finance development, contractors federations,  consultants,  member countries development banks. The meeting takes place during the period 14 – 18 May 2017.

The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), member of the Islamic Bank Group intends to hold a meeting on the side-lines of the groups 42nd annual meeting with the participations of a large number of government officials, executive directors and financial institutions’ representatives in order to discuss the role of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises “SMEs” in member states.

In this framework, the CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol has stated that the meeting will discuss the obstacle that impede the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises “SMEs” in the member countries and will discuss the corporation’s strategy to support these enterprises and endeavor to eradicate such obstacle in order to develop them and enable them to actively support the economies of their member countries.

The speakers in this important meeting will include Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol, the CEO of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), Mr. Recep Biçer, the President of small and medium-sized enterprises “SMEs” Development - Turkey, Mr. Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru, CEO and Chairman of Skye Bank Group Ltd. - Nigeria and Mr. Mohamed Rithauddin Makip the Executive Vice President of small and medium-sized enterprises “SMEs” institute – Malaysia.

Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol has confirmed at the conclusion of the Islamic Development Bank’s Board of Governors 42nd annual meetings shall witness the signing of many important agreements between the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), Burkina Faso, Mali and Gambia governments.
